Eligibility Criteria for Coast Guard Assistant Commandant
General Duty (GD):
- Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks
- Successful eligibility requires candidates to have taken Mathematics and Physics up to Intermediate or Class XII in the 10+2+3 education structure or its equivalent, achieving a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in both subjects. Additionally, graduates who completed a diploma can apply, provided they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma, with physics and mathematics forming part of the curriculum.
Age Limit: Born between 01 Jul 1999 to 30 Jun 2003 (Both dates inclusive)
Technical (Mechanical)
- Eligible candidates should possess an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, or Aerospace, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Alternatively, an equivalent qualification in any of these disciplines, recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India) with exemption from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their Associate Membership Examination (AMIE), is also recognized.
- To be eligible, candidates must have pursued Mathematics and Physics up to intermediate or Class XII in the 10+2+3 education system or its equivalent, securing a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in both subjects. Additionally, graduates who completed a diploma are eligible, provided they have an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma, with physics and mathematics forming part of the curriculum.

Technical (Electrical/ Electronics)
- For eligibility, candidates should have an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, Power Engineering, or Power Electronics, with at least 60% aggregate marks. An equivalent qualification in these disciplines, recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India) with exemption from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their Associate Membership Examination (AMIE), is also considered acceptable.
- Candidates must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to intermediate or Class XII in the 10+2+3 education system or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in both Mathematics and Physics. Additionally, candidates who have completed graduation after a diploma are eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma, with Physics and Mathematics included in its curriculum.

Indian Coast Guard AC Medical Standards
a) Height.
Asst Commandant (GD) and Tech. 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
(b) Weight. Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
(c) Chest. Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
(d) Eye Sight.
